Disappointed with the way he left Brila FM, Nigeria’s pioneer sports radio station days ago, popular presenter, Murphy Ijemba, launched a tirade on his former boss on Twitter days ago while making it known he is no longer an employee of the Victoria Islandbased radio station. Ijemba, an award-winning presenter popularly known as Radio Paparazzi, was not alone in the management decision.
His team members including Sean Amadi and Eseoghene Edafe were also relieved of their jobs after an alleged altercation with the CEO of the company, Dr. Larry Izamoje. The favourite of many listeners of the station who hosted the traffic-time show, one of the most popular radio shows in Lagos for the past few years, vented his anger in a series of tweets, most of which were against his erstwhile boss.
Born in Mushin, a popular suburb of Lagos, Murphy is a fluent speaker of his native Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa languages and studied Accounting at Bayero State University, Kano. He began his broadcasting career with Raypower FM Kano and also presented ‘Next Level, a show on AIT before moving to Brila FM years ago.
“Larry Izamoje hates people making progress,” he wrote in one of his tweets and then another, he said: “My legacy lives on BRILA… my style… my brand.” Going on, he wrote: “Clive in Onitsha… Dogo in Kaduna…They all want to sound like Murphy Ijemba.”
