Lagos lauds dredging firm for donating to orphans

The Lagos State Government has presented a letter of commendation to Lagos Channel Management LCM) for its annual welfare packages for the less privileged in the state.
The letter was handed over to the dredging company through the state’s Ministry of Youth and Social Development at the Apapa Dockyard in Lagos.
Representative of the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mrs Yewande Falugba, who witnessed another donation of N5 million to five orphanage homes presented the letter and appreciated the efforts of the company.
Falugba said that if the organisation refused to help, the helpless would take arms when they grow up and devastate the society.
The dredging firm has already assisted some orphanages with over N45 million in the past nine years.
This year, the firm donated N1million each to Oyiza Home of Love (orphanage and foster foundation), Lady Atinuke Oyindamola Memorial Home, Special Medical Correctional Centre for Boys, Correctional Centre for Boys and Olubukola Fowowe Home as part of its corporate social responsibility seized the occasion of the Christmas season
Speaking during the presentation of cheques to the three Lagos State homes and two private homes, the Managing Director, Lagos Channel Management, Mr. Danny Fuchs, said that government alone should not be left to shoulder the responsibility of providing welfare for the vulnerable members of the society.
He urged other corporate organisations to provide adequate welfare for the less privileged people in the state
Fuchs said: “We at the LCM have been doing this since 2009; and we hope we can do even better than this.
