APC tackles embattled chairman over position on Oyegun, others

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has asked its embattled Chairman, Hon Isaacs Kekemeke to channel his grievances against the National Chairman, Chief John Oyegun and the acting Chairman, Ade Adetimehin to the reconciliation committee headed by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Director of Publicity, Mr Steve Otaloro in a statement said the suspension of Kekemeke as chairman and the appointment of Adetimehin as acting Chairman followed due process of law contrary to the position of the embattled chairman contrary to his position in an interview with newspapers.

Kekemeke in an interview had alleged that the letter appointing Adetimehin as acting Chairman was ‘black market’ as the National Chairman did not have power under the APC’s constitution to remove and appoint state chairman of the party.

The embattled Chairman also linked his grouse with Oyegun over his inability to provide a vehicle to pick him from the Airport to the venue of the inauguration of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN as governor a year ago.

But Otaloro who in his statement said Kekemeke lied on interview argued that the embattled Chairman deliberately maligned the national chairman and denigrated the highest authority of the party with a view to portraying himself as being innocent of all the allegations levelled against him.

His words “The choice of Chief Oyegun as the national chairman of APC was not only based on his political prowess but his dignity and knack for speaking and standing by the truth at all times not minding whose ox is gored.

“The frivolities brought forth by Kekemeke are a miscalculated and misapplied political gimmick to see him wade through this political murky water he initiated by his inability to know when to be free and fair to all aspirants as a leader of the party and defy anti-party activities.”

The party said “ we advise the erstwhile chairman to learn when to keep quiet and allow his issues to be sorted out accordingly. His seditious behaviour and various
concocted stories would not help his case as they are aimed at portraying the leadership and the party in bad light.

“The timing of this compilation of falsehood is wrong most especially when President Muhammadu Buhari has saddled our national leader,  Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu with the role to reconcile all aggrieved members of the party.”
