Poland, Serbia exposed Eagles’ flaws –Fuludu

ABUJAA former international and New Nigerian Bank midfielder, Edema Fuludu, has said the last warm-up matches against Poland and Serbia exposed the deficiencies in the Super Eagles warming up for the World Cup.

Fuludu, who insisted that the national team was not ready for the World Cup, stressed that the yet deficiencies in the squad should be corrected especially in the area of goalscoring.

“I think we need to work on our scoring abilities; our left full back is also suspect, so the coach should think and work on it.

“To score goals, we need a fluid midfield. If Mikel Obi is not around he should have somebody to cover up for him.

“The coach should know he needs back up for every position,” he said. On the team’s chances at the World Cup, he said his worry was Iceland.

“If we beat Iceland, there is every possibility of moving to the next round and from there anything can happen,” he explained.

On who leads the attack, he said Gernot Rohr should go all out and look for goal poachers. “For Ighalo, he is a player with a lot of force and brawn but with less technical abilities.

“While Ihenacho has less strength but with technical knowhow if is in shape. So the coach should go out and look for play ers who will do the job for him after all he is being paid for the work.

We need a goal scoring machine to resolve the problem in the attack,” he stressed.
