Singer, daughter’s killing: Autopsy indicts Danish husband –Police

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, yesterday said that the autopsy carried out on the Nigerian musician, Zainab Nielsen, who was alleged to have been murdered by her husband, revealed that she died from trauma suffered as a result of the impact on her head. It was reported that Zainab and her daughter, Petral, were found dead on Thursday, April 5 at their Banana Island, Ikoyi residence, where she resided with her husband, Peter Nielsen.

The husband was alleged to have killed mother and daughter. One of Zainab’s younger sisters, living with the couple, claimed to have seen Peter, repeatedly slam Zainab’s head against the wall.

The couple had a history of domestic violence. Yesterday, Edgal noted that forensic experts have revealed that there were blood stains from the couple’s bedroom, which trailed to the kitchen. According to him, even though the blood was cleverly wiped from the floor, police were still able to detect it with the application of special chemical reagents. He added: “Blood stains were also discovered on the wash-hand basins and on the hand towel the suspect used in wiping his hands after the committing the crime. Although it was cleverly cleaned up as well, experts were able to discover that too.”

The commissioner said that further forensic examinations were being carried out and would be used as evidence against Peter, who had being remanded in prison custody.
