Herdsmen killings: Osinbajo’s visit to Benue, a callous act to swindle votes

Herdsmen killings: Osinbajo’s visit to Benue, a callous act to swindle votes

Emmanuel Agbo, the deputy National Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has described Vice Presiden Yemi Osinbajo’s visit to Benue State, particularly Abagana, Gbajimba and Anyii Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp as a political attempt to swindle votes ahead of 2019 general elections.

Mr Agbo said the visit was an insult to the grieving people of Benue State and window dressing the already damaged image of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

In a statement signed by Mr Agbo, he noted that the VP did not visit the people of Benue when two priests and seventeen parishioners were killed, neither does he agree that the herdsmen who killed 73 Christians in the state are terrorists.

The statement reads in part; “It is pathetic that while Osinbajo speaks loudly against former President Goodluck Jonathan and the opposition, he remained voiceless until our people were made refugees in their own land.

“Since the news of the cabal’s plan to pick a new running mate for Buhari ahead of the 2019 presidential election became public knowledge, Osinbajo has since shown a level of desperation that casts a doubt publicly over his professed Christian faith.

“Osinbajo’s promise during his visit to the Internally Displaced Persons camps in the state that President Buhari has approved a total of N10 billion for the rehabilitation of communities affected by violent attacks in parts of the country further shows that the federal government is totally disconnected from the people. This shameless act affirms that Buhari’s administration fail to realize that money cannot replace or buy back the lives lost to the reckless slaughter of innocent citizens by Fulani extremists.

“By this dishonest act, the Buhari administration has only added insult to the injury of Benue people. The Buhari-led federal government who promised N50billion for states who donate land for Fulani herdsmen in the name of colony unfortunately has only N10 billion for all those internally displaced farmers that cut across more than 13 states in the country.

“Let Osinbajo and his boss eat their N10 billion. The life of one Benue citizen is worth more than the Federal Government’s blood money. Let it be on record that people of Benue will not be deceived by those who impoverished our people and watched us bury our sons and daughters while they gave nothing but excuses.”

See him name sef Agbo. Agbo ko, Bitterleaf ni. Him name calling OSinbajo and undermining his help is just stupid. I know it’s a difficult situation but Osinbajo is trying to help. Opposition party will always hate sha. Osinbajo cares about the people.

Yoruba adage says you can’t please the witch, she will still complains, mr. Agbo is a political oppositor in his write up, for better political transition. We should give room for fairness, un baisness and an empathy leadership to return peace and love, continuation of good works.

This is worrisome! How can Emmanuel Agbo, the deputy National Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), prefer his party ahead of human lives? I am seriously dissapointed that this condemnation is coming from a Benue man, a person who have never provided any help to these Innocent people. Very unfortunate. Listening to the people in Abagena IDP camp, I saw faces of hope and engorgements as the welcome the Vice President with excitements. I think, the truth about the killing may be connected to those who want to make political gains from it. Thank God for Osinbajo who has always done the needful

My may major happiness is the fact that the government has not abandoned them as was done in the past. Let me use this medium to remind Emmanuel Agbo that some of the students of Chibock girls kidnapped during PDP his party were rescued by the present government. Let me also remind him that in 2014 when people were killed in Guma LG, the funds released for the people then were diverted by his party for campaign. I think Agbo should have appreciated the Vice President for that visit, because, huge amount of money were also given for their welfare by FG.

This Emmanuel Agbo has not only showed that he is the most uncharitable, but, most wicked man I have seen in recent times. He just prefer the killing continued, myopically thinking that would make people vote for his party, what a callous calculation? Well, if Emmanuel Agbo does not value the lives of those killed, because, he is an Idoma man, 2019 will disappoint him.

Wonder there say shall never end. Am surprised that a Benue man can boldly and shamelessly come out to criticize the visit that has been applauded by the well meaning people from Benue State. I was emotional when I watched children in Abegana camp singing with the Vice President, by then I realized that encouragement and hope for the IDPs was rekindled by the visit. So for anyone to chose his party over the people’s welfare is most uncharitable and height of man inhumanity to man

Expediency asks the question: is it political? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor political, nor popular – but one must take it simply because it is right. VP Osinbajo you are the oracles of God,spoken by the Sprit of God,through a great and annointed man of God.

This is pure politics, when the killings were affirmed and no reaction from the President nor the VP, the PDP members started quoting. Now, the VP done his duty and has promised security, rebuilding, and restoration to the people of Benue who are affected by this callous act yet Agbo took pen to paper and writing what i see as a total mishap. Let’s note one fact which is, the VP has gone and have made it very clear that these killings will stop.

Wonder shall never end, i can’t believe my eyes that a Benue man is the one condemning the Vice President visitation to the good people of Benue state. The visit that has largely been appreciated and acknowledged positively by those affected and the well meaning of the state is been condemned by an Idoma man, maybe because, he is not a Tiv man. But, even that does take his humanity, why being inhuman because of politics? I think, the people of Benue will respond to Emmanuel Agbo and his party when the need arises in 2019

It is so unfortunate that a man from Benue State who is supposed to appreciate the Vice President and the Federal Government for coming to assuage the plight of his people, is the one politicizing it. No wonder, this crisis lasted, obviously, people like Emmanuel Agbo would be happy to see the killing continue for his selfish and political interest.

This Peoples seems to don’t know what they are doing again, they are finding all possible means to bring the VP’s image down, weeks ago, they are complaining that he di not go to benue and now he’s there they are complaining, Only God can heal you people

It’s equally shameful for PDP to come up with this statement.

Same party sponsored faceless articles and media trolls to speak against the FG during the killings. Now that the principal actors allegedly linked to the killings have been arrested with some under trial, they suddenly find another reason to wail.

The FG is smart to neutralize the threat, and it’s wisdom has declared to secure lives than before, build homes and farmlands and ensure children return to schools.

No better time for the VP to visit Benue than now when the security forces have successfully dealt with the militia group.

If this was what had to come out from the mouth of a so called politician from Benue, then they’re doomed.
It’s expected of a matured adult not to attach political sentiment when it’s crucial matter that concerns the welfare of its people.
    I am dissapointed!

While progress is being made, the PDP is hating.

If Jonathan had done the needful during his administration, we won’t be where we are today. But instead of securing lives, monies meant for ammunitions were being pocketed by generals.

Well, Emmanuel Agbo and PDP can continue wailing. vice President Osinbajo will continue to secure lives and renew hopes.

Emmanuel Agbo or what is his name has no iota of shame for issuing out a statement like this. Your political gimmicks cannot work! I personally knew that the opposition party will never see anything good in what the federal government has done, but i know its all in a bid to ensure their return back to power. What did PDP do when the boko haram insugents left people homeless in the north for several years? Nothing, rather than sharing money that is meant to better the peoples lives for their own selfish interest. The money that has been approved by the federal government is not for shopping spree, and cannot retuen lost lives, but it is to restructure the land. Whether it is a callous act to swindle votes or not, it stands that the federal government meant well for the people.

Emmanuel Agbo, the deputy National Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), what do you expect them to say… Everything is about politics in their eye, they always against the opposition at right and wrong. The politics of “we are not in power, we must condemn their activities” suppose to stop in this country… Every body knows what is going on in the country, and killing started from their regime, they were unable to put an end to it.

We all know the deed is done, the dead cannot be waken, the rest people have to be protected and secure for such killing not to occur again, and that’s exactly what the VP went to do in the state by assuring peace restore back to the state. And the building destroyed must be rehabilitated for the people to go back to their various home. All this post by the opposition is nothing but hypocritical… We are not fool, we can identify the good and bad, so stop telling us rubbish.

This is neither credible nor far fetched. The vp has been going about coordinating several productive events, but instead of applauding, u sit there mounting up unintellectual claims as to y the vp has been going about. I suppose if anything should even come out of anyone’s mouth in the 1st place, it should not be from pdp monsters like u. Get your shit together and appreciate the vp. He’s the best we’ve had so far.

Emmanuel Agbo had failed to tell Nigeria where about of over 200 Chibok girls adopted by Boko Haram during the evil reign of PDP and he had failed to explain to Nigeria what PDP government did for the family of thousand of people killed by terrorist during the bloody reign of Jonathan. When GEJ was jubilation and dancing while many Nigerian were burning there Children and family members with sorrow and agony. No single word of condolence while they busy looting our common wealth.
Agbo need to be remind the killing of Odih people by OBJ lead PDP government can u remind Nigerians how many thousand or hundreds of life lost by bloody shocker party called PDP. Agbo should tell Nigerians where is the Billion of dollars allocated for Arms during the inglorious regime of terror of PDP.

The Money that was release for the Victims is it payment of Life, the money is for restructure and reform of damages, but i don’t see something meaning in this message because the did as been done and the FG is taking all the possible step to Eradicate it, The role that you suppose to take as a good citizen is to support the and enhance the progress, rather than complaning and accusing the government, You also have your part role to play, in most outsider countries most of the information acquire by the force agencies were from citizens.

the statement of Mr. Agbo the deputy national secretary of the peoples democratic party is a great disservice to the people of Benue state. The issue at hand has gone beyond politicizing and politics shouldn’t be brought to issues that pertains to the sanctity of Human life. they were the one who cried wolf when the president nor the Vice president hasn’t visit now they are still crying that the Vice president paid benue a visit. Mr. Agbo and his political co-travellers have lost it totally.
