PIB: Okowa, Senate Committee berated for refusal to visit monarch

Former councilor and Deputy Leader of Warri South-West Council legislative arm, Hon. Thomas Ibukun Emami, has flayed the action of Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the Senate Joint Committee on Oil and Gas for failing to visit the Warri monarch, the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli, when members of the committee visited some communities in Warri South –West of the state.


This was as the former councilor insisted that “Warri Kingdom remained one indivisible entity under the lordship of the Olu of Warri.”


Emami, however, condemned the Senate Joint Committee for its decision to engage some stakeholders in Uba-Atan in Benin River, Ode-Ugborodo and Gbabo in Ugborodo axis of the state without “first visiting the Olu of Warri, with a view to engaging the monarch and members of the Warri Traditional Council before interfacing with others stakeholders in his domain.”
