The Federal Capital Territory Resettlement Scheme has disclosed that the infrastructural projects in Wasa community has finally been commenced following the recent approval of N26 billion by the Federal Executive Council.
Wasa is one of the rural communities affected by the ongoing Apo-Wasa-Karshi road project in the Abuja Municipal Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
Coordinator, Satellite Towns Development Department of FCT, Isiyaku Tanko Yamawo, who disclosed this, said that already N2billion has been released to the contractor, who has already mobilized to site.
Yamawo assured that the administration was committed to completing the projects meant to provide succour to the rural residents of the territory. He also stated that the ongoing Apo-Wasa-Karshi road would be completed like the Gbagalape road that has become one of the testimonials of the current administration.
According to him, procurement has already gone far as the FCT Administration was determined to ensure completion of another major bypass behind Mpape, traversing Nyanya, Gitata Panda and terminating at Gurara, in Kaduna State.
Yamawo said that the bypass is a “dedicated dual carriageway on the eastern carriage way which would ease traffic on the Nyanya-Karu and Kubwa expressways, and make entry and exit to the nation’s capital easy.
