Registration commences for Africa Tourism Leadership Forum and Awards 2018 in Accra

Formal registration for the Africa Tourism Leadership Forum and Awards 2018 billed for Accra, Ghana, is said to have commenced online. The forum is being organised by Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) in collaboration with Africa Tourism Partners (ATP) and its lead partner Grant Thornton. The inaugural forum, which is a Pan- African project, is designed by Africans for Africa travel and tourism trade operators from across the continent and it is expected to feature leaders, leading stakeholders, business leaders, investors, policy makers, tourism administrators and national boards and the media from a large spectrum of businesses and interests in the continent. It is slated to hold between August 30 and 31 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), Ghana.

It will host more than 30 distinguished experts, with such names as Ghana Minister of Tourism, Catherine Abelema Afeku, Elcia Grandcourt of UNWTO, Ms. Virginia Messina of World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), Mr. Vincent Oparah of NEPAD (Africa Union), Ms. Gillian Saunders former Deputy CEO of Grant Thornton and Advisor to South Africa Minister of Tourism, Akwasi Agyeman of Ghana Tourism Authority, Ms. Carmen Nibigira of Horwath PTL and East Africa Platform and Aaron Munetsi of South Africa Airways (SAA) listed for the two days gathering.

“We are very excited about the level of enthusiasm we have received from speakers, supporting partners and attendees for this unique conference and the masterclass,” says the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Tourism Authority, Agyeman. “We look forward to bringing together the many global and African travel and tourism leaders to Ghana for a substantive discussion on thought and innovation leadership, progressive policies, intra-travel Africa, air access, business tourism, innovation and other real-world solutions to key issues facing the industry, as well as the opportunities it presents today,’’ he added. The programme for the Forum is as follows: August 30 – CEOs’ and executives breakfast function; Masterclass in sustainable tourism product development and business tourism; and August 31 – Africa Tourism Leadership Forum and Awards Dinner.
