2019: APC picks 23 Ogun Assembly consensus candidates



The Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) has selected and adopted no fewer than 23 consensus candidates for the state House of Assembly elections in the state. The candidates emerged during a stakeholders meeting held under the supervision of Governor Ibikunle Amosun at the Presidential Lodge, Abeokuta.


They emerged after all aspirants from all constituencies met to pick the most suitable candidate among them.


The exercise, which commenced from Monday afternoon through the night, will be concluded on today with the adoption of candidates for the three remaining state constituencies as well as those of the National Assembly seats.


Amosun, who announced the outcome of the exercise, said it was a demonstration of the transparent democratic ideals of the APC. The governor said the arrangement, witnessed by elected party members and political appointees, was peaceful and accepted by all.


He thanked all the aspirants for their cooperation and urged thecandidatestopreparefor the forthcoming elections. In their separate speeches, all the candidates commended the party and Amosun for what they described as rancour-free exercise.
