Contrary to the allegation by a section of members of staff of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State that they were being victimised by the university authorities for submitting memoranda to the Visitation Panel constituted by the state government to look at the records and activities of the institution, the management said the claim was frivolous, unfounded and far from the truth.


This was as the management, led by its Vice- Chancellor, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, denied a story going viral in the media that it was witch-hunting and meting out sanctions on members of staff that submitted memoranda and petitions to the Visitation Panel.


The state Governor and Visitor to the university, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) had in November last year constituted a Visitation Panel for the four state government-owned tertiary institutions to look into their activities and financial records. The panels, among other terms of reference are to look into the state of affairs of the four tertiary institutions, how the finances of the institutions were managed, nature and spread of staff recruitment, and the accreditation status of courses offered.
