Bayo Osinowo’s ambition raises dust

Going by his easy going manner and the fact that he’s not given to making unnecessary noise, the man, Bayo Oshinowo is not known across board. However, his pedigree and clout in the political arena would any day earn him respect from anyone as far as Lagos politics is concerned. Those who happen to know him will readily attest to the fact that his clout and influence is so huge that it will open any door in Lagos State and even beyond.


Oshinowo, better known as Pepper is a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly serving his fourth term. Aside from the fact that he’s a strong grassroots politician and that he’s a trusted ally of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, he’s also a self-made business man courtesy of his flourishing marble trade among others. As a matter of fact, he’s considered the unofficial leader of Lagos legislative chamber.


It may no longer be news in some quarters that Honourable Oshinowo has made up his mind to bid Lagos Assembly good bye and seek greater challenge at the National Assembly as he hopes to represent Lagos East senatorial district at the senate through the 2019 general election that is fast approaching. However, if information reaching us is anything to by, Oshinowo’s aspiration may have brought up issues that have pitched him against the senator presently representing Lagos East in the person of Senator Gbenga Ashafa, who is interested in going for another term. As at the time of filing in reports, there had not been any way forward other than the battle line drawn that is getting deeper.
