Welcome to New Telegraph’s live updates of the Osun State Governorship election.

The Osun governorship election is a shift from the usual two-horse race to at least five major contenders considered potential winners in the election.

They are; Iyiola Omisore, a former deputy governor of the state donning the flag of the Social Democratic Party (SDP); Gboyega Oyetola, a former chief of staff to the incumbent governor. contesting under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC); Isiaka Adeleke, a senator seeking to become governor under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); a former Secretary to the State Government, Fatai Akinbade contesting under the African Democratic Party (ADP) and another former Secretary to the State Government, Moshood Adeoti of the Action Democratic Party (ADP).

10:15am APC’s Gboyega Oyetola cast his vote


10:07 Ward 4, Unit 5 Ede South, these set of people have been asked to wait for another turn as the Card reader is yet to capture their Permanent Voters card and finger prints.


9:55 Ife North Ward 08 Unit 004. Not a very large turnout but voting is going peacefully


9:15am, PU 009, Ward 01, Ibokun Isale Alfa, Obokun LG, Voting Point, voters on a queue to vote. Total No of Registered Voters – 772


Ede South LGA: Ward 4, PU005 9:00am. Card read could not recognise another voter with a slightest time. At 9:02am, someone else is also their being attended to.

The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke has just cast his vote at his polling unit, Abogunde Compound, Unit 009/02, Ede North LGA.
