Omisore accuses Aregbesola of owing workers N1.9bn

The governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Osun State,Otunba Iyiola Omisore, has accused the Rauf Aregbesola-led administration of owing the state workers N1.9 billion. Omisore revealed this at the party’s mega rally in Osogbo, yesterday. He maintained that Governor Aregbesola should first go and pay workers salary before he could be qualified to field a candidate to contest the election. He wondered what could have caused delay in offsetting the outstanding salaries, allowances and other entitlements of the state workers when the government could use over N5 billion on a campaign bill board for the September gubernatorial election.

The SDP candidate, who assured that the backlog of worker’s salaries owed by the present government would be paid with dispatch, said he will do a total overhaul of the education, health and agricultural sectors of the state if elected. Accusing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of working hand in hand to perpetrate electoral fraud before, during and after the election, Omisore vowed to resist the move at all cost.
