2019: PDP launches operation deliver your ward

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has given a marching order to members of its Board of Trustees (BoT) to deliver their ward to the party in the 2019 presidential election and be rewarded. PDP National Chairman, Prince Urge Secondus, at a meeting on Thursday night between the BoT members and the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, said every BoT and National Working Committee (NWC) member must deliver his or her ward to the party in 2019. “It will not be business as usual. From NWC, every BoT must be able to deliver his constituency.

You must deliver. It is when you deliver that you will be rewarded. If we leave that responsibility to the younger ones, you know what will be?” Secondus demanded. He reminded them that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government is “vicious” and demanded that all hands must be on deck for the PDP to win the election.

“Our focus is to win every polling unit in Nigeria. No one single soul can do it alone. Our candidate will meet with the governors, governorship candidate, National Assembly members. Your advice is very apt and essential. “If we all put our hands on the deck, we will win this election. Nigerians are waiting for us. If elections are conducted free and fair, it will be a landslide for us,” Secondus boasted. Atiku on his part, said he is prepared to work with the BoT members and to reward them if he eventually win the presidential election. According to him, the party would be going into a crucial stage, which he described as “extremely important.”

He cautioned the party not to underrate the opponents, noting that it is the time for the PDP to unleash its strategies. Atiku told the BoT members that he had a “fantastic meetong” with former President Olusegun Obasanjo where he was endorsed by the former president who also promised to laugh his presidential campaign. The BoT Chairman, Senator Walid Jibrin, commended Atiku for doing the party proud and urged him to reach out to former presidential aspirants who lost to him at the National Convention. He expressed the hope that Atiku would be elected president next year.
