Following last Saturday primary election, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared former Ondo state Speaker House of Assembly, Dr. Bakitta Bello as winner of the party’s ticket to represent Akoko North East/West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Bello, the sole aspirant for the National Assembly seat under the party’s banner, was unanimously elected at the party primaries, which took place at the Okoja Civic Centre, Ikare-Akoko, headquarters of Akoko North-East Local Government Area of the state.

According to ADC’s official, Prince Akinrinbola Ebenezer Adeniyi, the delegates for the primary election, who were duly accredited for the exercise, were from 23 wards in Akoko North East and North West Local Government Areas of the federal constituency.

With the election, Bello was the candidate for the February 2019 National Assembly election on the platform of the party.

While presenting Bello to the delegates as the party’s candidate, Adeniyi explained “Dr. Bakkita Bello’s affirmation, the sole aspirant for the seat by the delegates, has thus confirmed him as the ADC candidate to represent Akoko North East/West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and the flag bearer of the party at the February 2019 National Assembly election.”

Also, Pastor Jide Ipinsagba has emerged senatorial candidate for Ondo North Senatorial District of the state at the party’s primary election held at Otunba Fasawe’s compound in Owo town.

“The party leaders and delegates across the Senatorial District after accreditation and under the close watch and supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agents, elected Pastor Jide Ipinsagba as its senatorial candidate for Ondo North,” the statement by the party said.

Bello, who described his election as an act of God, however, thanked the leaders of the party and supporters, as well as the delegates for believing in him, promising that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him.
