Nimrod laments lack of sponsorship for volleyball

The President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Musa Nimrod, has expressed worries over the inability to secure sponsorship for the forthcoming volleyball league.
The Volleyball Premier League is scheduled to start on November 1 having suffered a series of postponements, the latest of which was due to the hosting of the U21 Africa Men’s Nation’s Cup in Abuja as well as the preliminaries of team games ahead of the 2018 National Sports Festival in Abuja next month.
Nimrod lamented how difficult it had been for the federation to get sponsors despite having contacted a number of organisations but their response, unfortunately, has been short of expectations.
He said: “The federation wrote to several organizations for sponsorship, but is yet to get any response, but all I can say is that we will have a successful outing with or without any sponsors coming through.”
He however expressed optimism that things would take proper shape in the coming weeks, pledging they would explore alternative avenues to ensure that the league commences this time around.
“But we wouldn’t say because we are still awaiting response from the letters we’ve forwarded for sponsorship in some organisations and leave certain things undone. Whatever needs to be done has to be taken care of ahead of the start of Nigeria volleyball league,” he said.
