VW releases first image of T-Cross small crossover

The T-Cross, which will make its world debut this autumn, will compete in Europe against models such as the Renault Captur and Peugeot 2008 in the small crossover segment, which grew 6.4 per cent to 1.34 million vehicles last year

In addition to Europe, VW said the T-Cross would be sold in China and South America. The small SUV is unlikely to be sold in the United States, where VW’s entry model is the Golf compact. At 4107mm long, the T-Cross will slot in between the shorter Polo hatchback and the T-Roc compact SUV in VW’s portfolio. The segment-leading Captur and the 2008, which is the No. 2-seller in the sector, are both slightly longer at 4122mm and 4159mm, respectively.

Despite its size, VW said the T-Cross has an unusually large amount of room for its class, adding that the back seats can be adjusted lengthwise to increase knee room or provide more luggage space.
