Ochanya: My church praying for God’s intervention –Ogbuja’s wife

Mrs. Felicia Ogbuja, aunt to the late Ochanya Ogbanje, has revealed that her church was praying and seeking God’s intervention in the ongoing sexual violation allegation levelled against her husband and son.

Felicia is the wife of Mr. Andrew Ogbuja, a university lecturer and mother of, Victor Ogbuja, an undergraduate. Father and son allegedly repeatedly sexually violated Ochanya until she fell sick and was diagnosed with Vesicovaginal Fistula (VVF).

Ochanya died at the age of 14, but father and son were alleged to have been having forced intercourse with her since she was 11 years old. Felicia is a sister to Ochanya’s mother.

The dark secret of Ochanya’s years of sexual subjugation was discovered after she was taken to a hospital by a concerned Nigerian, who was worried by the girl’s frequent collapse and illness. It was at the hospital that Ochanya’s sexual violation was discovered by medical experts.

Confronted by the doctors’ finding, Ochanya had no choice than to reveal how Andrew and his son, for years, had been defiling her. She died after her confession.
Since the dirty secret came to light, Victor had gone into hiding, while Andrew is in police custody.

It was learnt that the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NATIP) has issued an invitation to Felicia after Nigerians insisted that there was no way the woman of the house wouldn’t have known what was happening under her roof.
It was also learnt that Felicia has allegedly not honoured the invitation.

Speaking with Eneh Kate Achadu, a journalist with The Intervention publication in a recent interview, Felicia said: “My church, the St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Ugbokolo, praying for God’s intervention in the matter. I also go to the Apparition Ground at Aokpe to pray.”

The mother of six is yet to be invited for questioning or declared wanted by the police. It was heard that NAPTIP agents had visited her Ugbokolo house several times, but never met her.

Presently, Andrew is in detention at the State Prison, Makurdi, while next arraignment is November 29.
