Three new APC Reps sworn in as APGA loses lawmaker to PDP

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, yesterday administered oath on the three new lawmakers elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This was just as Hon. Gabriel Onyewife, representing Oyi federal constituency in Anambra State, defected from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The new members who were sworn in are Hon. Yusuf Nuhu representing Toro federal constituency of Bauchi), Hon. Tunji Olawuyi representing Irepodun/Isin/Oke Ero/Ekiti federal constituency of Kwara and Hon. Abubakar Kusada representing Kankia/Kusada federal constituency of Katsina.

Both Nuhu and Kusada, were recently elected to fill the vacancy created by the election of the former occupants as senators, while Olawuyi is the replacement for the former minister of state for health, Hon. (Princee) Funke Adedoyin who died in September, 2018.

In a related development, Speaker Yakubu Dogara announced the defection of Hon. Gabriel Onyewife from APGA to the PDP. Onyewife, in his letter to the speaker explained that his decision to defect was due to the current crisis in APGA.
