Davido unfollows Zlatan Ibile on Instagram days after release by EFCC

Davido might still be in faraway United States of America where he has been for the past few days as you are reading this but the music superstar is still making his presence felt on the Nigerian social media space.
The latest about the self-styled Omo Baba Olowo has to do with him putting an end to his followership of indigenous rapper, Zlatan Ibile, on Instagram. The move came just days after the rapper was released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Sources close the Davido said his decision to unfollow Zlatan Ibile, who was arrested with Naira Marley on Friday along with a few others, might not be unconnected with credit for their release.
In the days after their arrest by EFCC, many of the up-and-coming musicians had bombarded Davido with requests urging him to intervene in the matter and use his connections but it turned out that the ‘Fall’ singer was not responsible for the eventual release from the EFCC’s custody as many had been made to believe.
In a move believed to have been orchestrated by Davido’s camp, popular blogging site, Instablo9ja had reported that Davido was behind the release of the rapper, crediting him with hiring a lawyer to facilitate the release of the musician and his friends.
A welcome message that Davido promptly dispatched on social media moments after Zlatan Ibile’s release on Tuesday night seemed to support that assertion. But those in the camp of Zlatan, whose name is Omoniyi Raphael, were quick to debunk that account, crediting Burna Boy and Olamide as the notables that came to Zlatan Ibile’s rescue.
Miffed apparently, perhaps with that revelation, Davido deleted the welcome back message he posted to the singer on social media, before deciding to unfollow him altogether.
Checks on Zlatan Ibile’s social media accounts show Davido is not one of his followers at as Thursday night.
