Lagos State Ministry of Education has shifted the dates for the screening test or examination into the state’s Model Colleges and Upgraded Schools, as well as the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for Junior School (JSS 3) pupils and the Placement Test into JSS I in all public secondary schools in the state The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Adebunmi Adekanye, noted that the postponement was necessitated by the inability of many schools and private individuals to adhere strictly to the guidelines of the new e-registration system adopted by the Lagos State Examinations Board this year, which made most of the data submitted incomplete.

According to the Permanent Secretary in a statement issued by the Deputy Director, Public Affairs for the ministry, Adesegun Ogundeji, “the need to clean up the data with a view to bringing every candidate on board necessitated the shift.”

Adekanye, who appealed for understanding by parents and guardians and said that the ministry regretted all inconveniences, further explained that the various examinations would not hold as earlier scheduled as new dates would be communicated later.
