I’m more concerned about touching lives –T.B Joshua

T

he founder of The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet T. B. Joshua, has expressed his preference to touching lives rather than operate fat bank account.

He made the disclosure in a recent interview with Concise News an online news platform.

His words: “This is the problem the country has brought to us; that is what we are talking about.

“Here we have a foundation for the youths, a football club. There are about 4000 of them that come from across the country, and we have a bus for them.

“We are also involved with the destitute in Oko-Baba, you saw the buses given to them and how they are being taken care of and we are giving them scholarships,” the influential televangelist explains.

He continues: “We have people in Leeds University in London, which is one of the best universities in the world. There are also the widows, the physically challenged – and we have a warehouse where we keep the rice which we give to these people.

“Each trailer is N5million and we have about four trailers. There are also the aged people – we look for them and take care of them, even the ones that are sick. Of course, you know that to run a football club costs a lot of money.

“Even the PHCN where they train, we paid heavily to secure it. These are some of the challenges we are facing. So when you now talk about the issue of tax, does it means that we will withdraw all these and use it to pay tax?

“We are doing more than paying tax. I don’t operate any bank account, not to talk of keeping money here.

“These people are my bank account. I believe so much in this so that in the nearest future, people can stand and say, ‘I am now this through the grace of God in the life of TB Joshua’”

Eid el-Maulud; Chief Imam urges Nigerians to exhibit trust, selflessness

Sheik Abdul Isola, Chief Imam of Islamic Centre, Uwani, Enugu, has urged Nigerians to emulate the exemplary lifestyle of Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him (PBUH) by exhibiting trust and selflessness.

Isola gave the admonition on Sunday in Enugu while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the celebration of 2019 Eid el-Maulud.

Eid el-Maulud is the celebration of birthday of Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

The cleric noted that the Prophet left a practical and shining example of trust while discharging his ministry on earth.

“The lack of trust and fear of God among us as Nigerians have continued to breed all sorts of negativity in the country.

“Leaders should exhibit trustworthiness by delivering what belongs and is meant for the people to them.

“While the lead, should reciprocate, by praying for the leaders and obeying simple civic laws and instruction meant for the betterment of all,’’ Isola, who is also the Chief Missioner of the Centre, said.

He noted that Nigerians must learn to be selfless as Prophet Muhammad PBUH; which endeared him to everyone that came in contact with him.

“Be your brother’s keeper. Do not keep acquiring wealth without using it to better the lives of those within your immediate environment,’’ he said.

The cleric, however, enjoined leaders, especially political office holders, to use the people’s wealth entrusted on them judiciously and for the common good of all.

“They should take practical steps on the creation of employment and other forms of engagement for the youths in order to check restiveness and idleness that breeds crime and criminality,’’ he added.

Congregation defiant of regime sanctioned Church demolition pays off

A

brave group of Chinese Christians who put their lives on the line for the sake of their church have achieved a major win against the oppressive communist regime.

Last Friday, members of Wugaozhuang Church of Guantao in Hebei Province were left horrified when government officials notified them of their church’s impending destruction. As Faithwire previously reported, the demolition had been ordered on account of the church, which is state-mandated, not being in possession of all the required permits.

But in a risky bid to sway the government away from the action, church members decided to organize a stakeout, refusing to leave the site.

Now, it appears that this brave show of defiance has paid off.

After a series of negotiations between parish priests and government officials, an agreement has been reached.

“Eventually, the state officials relented and promised to provision the church a new parcel of land and 200,000 Yuan to rebuild a church building upon that land,” reported persecution watchdog, International Christian Concern. “The priests have demanded the land be granted immediately in return for relinquishing the present church building, although it is presently unknown whether or not the land promised has been turned over.”

During the stakeout, police reportedly blocked those attempting to deliver food to the faithful inside the building.

“Local police blockaded the scene and prohibited anyone from entering or leaving,” a parishioner told UCA News. “Even food was not allowed in to coerce the priests and church members into giving up the protest.”

Considering the government’s relentless campaign of destruction against churches across the country, this will be viewed as a win for the embattled congregation, who refused to be cowed by the brutal state forces.

Earlier this month, a 3,000-member church in Anhui province was bulldozed as congregants worshipped. Another church was flattened in Henan province.

Do continue to pray for all those who face persecution on account of their religious beliefs.

The word of God is ultimate

The word of God is ultimate

T

he book of  Jeremiah 44:28 says, “Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.”

The Bible speaking in Ecclesiastic chapter 8:4 says, “Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?”

Words are the intent of the heart which is spoken as a communication process.   It is the thought of the inner self in action, The inside out of a man. When the heart is evil oriented, the word when transformed produces devastating effects that brings problems to the victims.  When God’s words are directed to the children, its transformation into action brings good tidings to the beneficiaries.   Whereas when the devil speaks, its intention has always been to cause destruction.  In preference God’s words are what people want to hear because of its accompanying good result.   And whenever the word of God is spoken, it is accorded recognition and it prevails against any other thing.

Our father in Heaven whose word is final on  everything has decided through this message to challenge the voices, words of the enemies and human agents of the devil who have said one thing or the other against your family, career, business, marriage, future or life.   Today, all such voices or evil words of the enemy targeted against you will be nullified in the name of Jesus.

Matt. 15:13 says, 13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.”  As long as that evil voice or works of darkness in your life or situation is not from God, it is going back to the sender in Jesus name.  The voice of God and His counsel shall stand in your life and this is not negotiable.  Maybe some evil reports have been made against you and you have been worried to the extent that you can no longer sleep or you are afraid as a result of one report or the other which suggests that your situation is not reversible, I want to tell you to forget such reports, and trust in God. He will not allow the devil to prevail in your life because He has the final say. His word makes the impossibility to become possible.

Believe the report of the servants of God of whom I am one of them and your negative situation and worldly report shall be reversed in Jesus name.   The report of God that I have for you today is that the word of God is final and His counsel in your life and situation shall stand.

Some men in the Bible days, even in the present day have spoken emphatically, and authoritatively on issues as though they were infallible. But God usually disappoints them, as He intervenes on behalf of His people with superior words. And the result is confidence, and victory for His people.

I do not know of anyone who may have spoken against you as if he has the final say or of a situation that may be raging against you pretending to be the final word on your case; if there be any, it will not stand. Because only God has the final word in your matter.  Exodus 5:1-2 says,

And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, ‘’Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness’’. 2 And Pharaoh said, ‘’Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go’’ This was Pharaoh opposing the word of God on the liberation of the Israelites. The consequence was that Egypt was almost destroyed before Pharaoh hurriedly let the Israelites go.  God has determined your freedom and His word is final authority in your life and situation.  Pharaoh had no authority over your life to act as if he is God.”

Exodus 6:1 says, Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land’’.

There is no controversy on the authority of God in matters concerning this world and the people therein.  He created heaven and earth and He has the power to control all the living and non-living things in the earth.   He has power to control all the forces both divine and devilish in  the earth, and beneath the earth.   God is out to protect his people.  He alone has the good words and power. And  by implication, whenever any genuine child of God, whose name is in the book of life utters a word, God will stand by it.

Engaging the spirit of joy for effective praise

Engaging the spirit of joy for effective praise

W

elcome to another exciting week! I hope you were blessed by the last teaching. Today, we shall focus on: Engaging the Spirit of Joy for Effective Praise!

We recognise form scriptures that praise remains ineffective except it is built on joy. Joy is the springboard for praise and when we lack it, our praises becomes ineffective. This is why among others, some people dance and sweat but get nothing out of praise.  It is written, …Is any merry? let him sing psalms (James 5:13). So, if we are not merry, we are not qualified to praise. As established in scriptures, we have been admonished to, Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing (Psalm 100:2). Therefore, we need to engage the fountain of joy to have express access to what it takes to remain on the praise frequency, no matter our situations.

What Then Brings About Joy?

•Celebrating The Word: One of the great streams of the river of joy is the Word of God. The Holy Spirit releases and sustains joy in the life of the believer by helping him make discoveries in the Word of God, which keep him rejoicing at all times (Psalm 119:162; 1 Corinthians 2:9-10).

•Rejoicing In Hope: Hope is another stream in the river of joy and it is a product of the Word of God as revealed by the Holy Spirit. It stabilises the heart and imparts joy in the inner man. This is practically illustrated in Job 14:7-9, For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. …and bring forth boughs like a plant (Job 14:7-9). We cannot be hopeful without being joyful. We are only downcast when we become hopeless. Hope sparks off joy and releases a new life on our inside that keeps us singing even when people think it is crazy to do so. Thus, as we keep celebrating our discoveries in the Word of God, hope is released, which further strengthens our joy and makes our praises acceptable.

In summary, no matter how hard you try, this teaching will not benefit you if you are not born again. Are you born again? If you are not, this is an opportunity to do so. Simply say the following prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Today, I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me! Now, I know I am born again!

Begin the long trek to success

Begin the long trek to success

F

or you to actualize your destiny, it is important that you live your life in compliance to the provision of the book of Romans12:1- 2 which states: “I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good, and acceptable and perfect will of God”.

Be a living sacrifice and you will know the perfect will, plan, purpose and counsel of God for your life. It is important to note that with determination, perseverance, focus and prayers one can change his or her ugly destiny into a good one; just like the story of Jabez as the book of 1Chronicles 4:9-10. He was destined to be a failure. His ugly name “Jabez” which means sorrow influenced his life negatively. When he woke up to the realization of that fact, he prayed a radical prayer of aggression and violence, telling God to change his situation and bless him indeed. God answered his prayers, and he became more honorable than his brethren.

Some people erroneously believe that they are destined to fail. This negative self-image usually arises out of what people tell them, or out of their own personal experiences. But this is very untrue. Indeed every man was created with a glorious destiny. Thus no matter how deep you have fallen into the pit of life, you can decide to climb out and begin the long trek to the place of success. Listen to these stories.

I heard a story of a girl called Jennifer, who became a prostitute at the tender age of fourteen. This was not in the mild mold of being a call girl, but in the crude fashion of living in a brothel. But when she came to herself, she got out, dusted herself and finished her secondary education. She later got married to a decent young man and was a house wife for about ten years. She was blessed with three boys and one girl. Suddenly she woke up one day with the dream of becoming a lawyer. She enrolled in a university and today she is a practicing lawyer.

Oprah Winfrey’s life offers another great story. Winfred is the hostess of the highly rated Oprah Winfred show. She was born out of wedlock. Her parents were mere teenagers living in rural poverty in the highly racial Southern USA. She was raped when she was only nine; and for the next five years, she was sexually abused by several men, including close relations. This led her to lead a wild life of sexual indecency, making her mother to attempt sending her to a home for wayward girls. But the saving grace was that there was no space to take her. Then at fourteen, she became pregnant but the child died in premature birth.

Spoon ceremony

Spoon ceremony

A

n adage, I was not born with gold or silver spoon in my mouth. I struggled to become what I am has become the favourite speech of many persons. Being born with silver or gold spoon means you inherited the wealth of your parents. Is that bad? I wish I was born with silver or gold spoon in my mouth.

This adage is related to what is today called Spoon Theory. For instance gold or silver spoons are synonymous with inherited wealth. It describes someone who has a prosperous background or is of a well-to-do family.

One can see where he/she belongs.  The purpose of this message is to increase your earnings, or to raise your spoon class, to make your family inheritance to increase to the next or next two classes. It is possible. Your spoon class depends on the wealth of your parents. Also the future of the children largely depends on the wealth of the parents.

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (2 Peter 1:3)

The Lord has provided all things you need in this life, including wealth because He is the owner of all wealth on earth and in heaven. We only acquire and inherit them by appropriate knowledge. Only God can translate you from one spoon class to the other through your faith.

Infact, the Lord says in Psalm 75:6, 7  For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.  But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

It is only God that can promote you to the next level no matter your age and job. If you blame Satan for not promoting you, you have changed verse 7, to but Satan is the judge: he putheth down one, and setteth up another. If you blame your boss, you are replacing God with your boss … but Boss is the judge: he putheth down one and setteth up another. If you blame your enemy, then you are replacing God in verse 7 with your enemy: But Enemy is the judge, he putheth down one and setteth up another. The moment you blame anyone for not being promoted, you have unconsciously replaced God with that person. Never blame anyone at all for your condition, and if you have done so, ask God for forgiveness and see what He will do next for you.

By virtue of the fact that you are child of God (John 3:16) “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body (Rom. 8:15, 23).

We are His children and our God-parent is wealthiest Person so we have very wealthy background. We are Gold Spoon class. Believe it. Behave like one, and receive the appropriate inheritance, through the Cross or death of the Lord Jesus Christ.
