2023: Yiaga Africa empowers youths

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Yiaga Africa and the Not Too Young To Run Movement have empowered youths on how to win elections. The groups advised youths that the only way to win an election is to participate in the process. Speaking at The Convergence 3.0 in Lagos yesterday, the Convener of Not Too Young to Run, Samson Itodo, and other experts urged youths to utilise their comparative advantage in the 2023 general elections. He said the youth must be involved in the democratic struggles to solve the challengesconfrontingthecountry.

He said, “It is not a child’s play to take over leadership from the current political leaders of the nation, therefore, youths must brace for the challenges ahead. “I thank the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Young Progressives Congress (YPP) and other political parties for nominating participants for the event.

“It goes to show that as a movement really interested in working with political parties because we are a nonpartisan movement. “We hope that this Convergence would give us an opportunity to reflect, inspire ourselves for the huge task that lies ahead. We have experience speakers that teach us not just how to run but how to win elections in 2023.”
