45 MFM varsity graduates bag first class

Mountain Top University (MTU) has said 45 of the 342 students made up of 169 in the 2019/2020 and 173 from the 2020/2021 academic sessions will graduate with first class on Thursday.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Elijah A Ayolabi,  made this known at a press conference ahead the convocation.

 

He said in the 2019/2020 academic session, 17 students made first class, with the College of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences (CHMS) producing nine, with the College of Basic and Applied Sciences (CBAS) eight. Ayolabi said 82 students graduated with Second Class Upper Division and 63 with Second Class Lower Division.

 

He stated that in the 2020/2021 academic session, 28 made first class – 13 in the CHMS, with the CBAS having 15.

 

On why he MTU decided to conferred a Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) Honoris Causa on Pastor Folashade Elizabeth Olukoya, the VC said: “This is the first time we shall be conferring a honorary doctorate degree.”
