Ademola Adeleke relishes great moments

Senator Ademola Adeleke may no longer be active on the political turf since he lost out at the governorship election that ushered in Gboyega Oyetola as the number one citizen of Osun State, however, his short time in politics has remained indelible in the minds of the people.

The reason for this is no other than the fact that Ademola at every given opportunity exhibited his dancing skills to the admiration of many who have come to know and love him for it as his trademark. Although, what some term as his uncouth penchant for the public display was used against him during the electioneering period.

Ademola, who was hitherto based in the United States of America, it will be recalled lashed on the vacuum created by the demise of his elder brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, who was a member of the red chamber of the National Assembly.

The deceased political party, APC, had wanted to compensate another loyal member with the vacuum against the wish of the Adeleke’s family who wanted Ademola to take over.

The PDP saw an opportunity in the situation and offered Ademola its platform to run for the senatorial election in which he emerged victorious.

The party had further banked on Ademola soaring popularity to clinch the governorship seat, thereby fielded him as the standard bearer, but this time, it didn’t turn out as envisaged as Gboyega Oyetola of APC won the contest.

While Ademola battled his loss, he was also confronted with allegation of certificate forgery. The outcome of the battle has no doubt taken a toll on his image as he has since gene low profile.

However, the Ede-born politician presently has reasons to put aside whatever his worries may be and count his blessing.

To start with, blast of good news sounded in his household earlier in the week when his daughter, Adenike graduated from a university at Alabama, United States, and to add icing to the cake, Senator Adeleke him just added another year to turn the mile stone age of 60.

Of course, the outbreak of Coronavirus may have hampered whatever plans he may have to roll out drums to celebrate but that has not in any way stopped family, friends and associates to send their heartfelt wishes to their own even as he savors the happy times
