he Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has told the embattled President of the Athletic Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Ibrahim Gusau, that he has case to answer and must clear himself of all allegations levelled against him.
In a statement released by the ministry, it was stated that Gusau remains suspended from office as the AFN President.
It was also said that the Investigative Panel set up by the AFN Board under the Acting President Olamide George, which outcome has not been released, will be looked into.
According to the statement, the ministry is aware that Gusau was given ample opportunity to appear and clear all allegations against him which he did not take advantage of.
It was also said that the declaration of autonomy by the Gusau-led faction was an aberration and not accepted.
The ministry said their focus is on preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and all other national and international sporting engagements of Nigeria towards ensuring successful outings.
