Anambra guber: Prudence differentiates Ozigbo from others, says Obi

The vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 elections, Mr Peter Obi, has explained that for any leader to be successful in office, he must be prudent in the management of the resources available to him and also accountable to the people. He said this was what set Mr. Val Ozigbo apart from others contesting to become governor of Anambra State.

Speaking on Arise Television, ahead of Anambra gubernatorial elections, Obi clarified that educational qualifications, though important, are not the only requirement for leadership. He said: “Anambra needs a leader that can solve the problems facing the state, not a lecturer that can speak the best of English. As much as I believe in education and will always invest in it, we must understand that it is not a measure of integrity, good character or good behaviour, and these are highly needed ingredients for exemplary leadership,” Obi said. Obi regretted that the present APGA government has, for the past seven and half years, sacrificed the development of the state on the altar of financial mismanagement, imprudence and political irresponsibility.
