Anambra poll: Why some policemen haven’t received allowances – Frank Mba

Spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Frank Mba, has stated the reason why some police officers deployed for Anambra State election are yet to receive allowances. African Examiner recalls that reports emerged on Saturday, saying police officers deployed to Anambra for the governorship election were protesting over unpaid allowances.

Reacting to this development, Mba, who spoke at the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) situation room in Abuja , stated that “clerical issues or typographical mistakes” may be the reason some officers deployed to Anambra have not received their allowances.

According tohim, over70per cent of the officers deployed to thestatehavebeenpaid. He said: “For the first time, we paid the money of personnel even before the commencement of the election.

“We deployed about 34,000 officers and as at noon on Friday, over 29,000 of them had received their money. I did not check today. And I’m sure a lot more would have received their money today.

“But we understand that there are some who have not received their money. This could be as a result of clerical mistakes in forwarding their details; it could be typographical mistakes.
