APC Convention: Ex- Minister, Adebayo Shittu, declares for Nat’l Sec.

Barely one week to the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress,(APC) a former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Adebayo Shittu, has declared his interest to contest for the position of the National Secretary in the National Working Committee (NWC).

 

The former Oyo State House Assembly member said his desire to contest for the position came as a result of the party leaving the zoning open. A week to the Convention, the leadership of the party has not come to any agreeable zoning of the NWC offices.

There are twenty-one NWC offices to be contested for in the National Convention.

 

Others, who had indicated interest to contest the position of National Secretary are: former Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba (Cross River); Hon. Nze Eziagwa (Abia); Senator John Akpanudoudehe (Akwa Ibom); Amb. Jerry Ugokwe (Anambra), Hon. Chidi Duru (Anambra) and Hon. Victor Giadom (Rivers) Declaring his interest,

 

Shitti said: “This is to humbly notify you of my aspiration to contest for the position of National Secretary of our party at the forthcoming National Convention on 26th February.

 

“Conscious of my abilities, experiences and my antecedents as a former House of Assembly member, twotime State Commissioner and Hon. Minister of the FRN, I plead for your support and assistance in enabling me to further serve our party to the best of my ability. I promise never to disappoint the gratitude of our members.”
