APC: No petition received on Ekiti congress – Committee

The All Progressives Congress (APC) appeal panel on congress in Ekiti State has said it has not got any petition regarding the event. Chairman of the panel, a former Oyo State Deputy Governor, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, who addressed journalists in Ado Ekiti yesterday, said not even the South West Agenda for Asiwaju, a group supporting a former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu’s alleged presidential bid had filed one. SWAGA last week inaugurated a factional body in Ado Ekiti, which came few days after the October 16 congress on the strength that the congress was alleged to have been fraught with irregularities.

The National Coordinator of SWAGA, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, while inaugurating the factional ward and local government executives, alleged that his members were sidelined by the faction loyal to Governor Kayode Fayemi called ‘TokanTokan’ prior to the congress. Oladokun said: “Before we left Abuja, no petition or document of complaints was given to us. We were even here at the secretariat on Tuesday trying to give whoever was not aware of our arrival on Monday the benefit of the doubt, but we received none.
