Bayelsa guber: Diri wins PDP ticket

Senator Douye Diri from Kolokuma Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State has won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Primaries ahead of the state’s governorship election scheduled to hold in November 16.

Diri, who is presently the senator representing Bayelsa central senatorial district, defeated the other contenders after securing 561 votes.

Timi Alaibe came second with a total of 365 followed by Keniebi Okoko who got 142 votes.

The total number of registered voters were1253 while voided votes were 16.

The major opposition party in the state, APC, is yet to hold her primary election to choose their own candidate.
