Abraham Ngobere took over from Monday Obolo Buobuo of Southern Ijaw Constituency 3 who had to step down because the new governor Douye Diri is from his Central Senatorial District.
Speaking at the hallowed chambers, the new Speaker Abraham Ngobere of Brass Constituency 3 craved for the cooperation of the Assembly members to enable him succeed.
He said: “We are one and the same. I crave your indulgence to work with me so that we make things better for the state
“I pray we work together in synergy with the governor so that we will bring the dividends of democracy to the people.”
The outgone Speaker, Monday Obolo Boubuo, however, thanked his colleagues for their support while he did his work as the Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
Michael Ogbere of Ekeremor Constituency 3, however, emerged Deputy Speaker while Monday Bolo Buobuo the immediate Speaker became the Majority Leader.
Incidentally, in less than five months the Bayelsa State House of Assembly has had three Speakers primarily due to local politics of the state.
