Borno: Fighting forces kill 140 terrorists elements within 2 weeks – DHQ

The Defence Headquarters, Thursday, said troops of Operation Hadin Kai killed a total of 140 suspected terrorists during kinetic operations in Borno State, between November 11 and 25.
This was as the DHQ further noted the arrest of a “notorious terrorist” on the wanted list of security operatives in the course of the operations.
Acting Director of Defence Media Operations, Brig-Gen. Benard Onyeuko, who made the disclosures at a bi-weekly operational briefing in Abuja, assured of the resolve of the Armed Forces of Nigeria – in collaboration with other security agencies – to defeat enemies of state, wherever they operate from.
According to the DDMO, troops have remained active in all theatres of operation across the country, assuring that no stone will be left unturned, in the determined bid to assert the full authority of the state.
“Our troops have continued to execute various kinetic and non-kinetic operations in conjunction with other security agencies across the nation,” the DMO’s spokesperson said.
According to him: “Although a few setbacks were experienced in the course of these operations within the last two weeks, however, troops remained undaunted and determined in their quest to attain sustainable peace in the country through kinetic and non-kinetic operations, which yielded attendant results in the past two weeks.
“On November 13, 2021, own troops in a coordinated ground and air attacks, repelled terrorists’ attack on troops at Askira Uba in Borno State.
“During the counter-offensive operation, over 50 of the terrorists were neutralized and several of their combat equipment, including gun trucks and other weapons were destroyed. Also, their fighting vehicles as well as large caches of arms and ammunition were recovered during the encounter. However, some of our gallant officers and soldiers paid the supreme prize.
“In related developments, troops in Baga town arrested a notorious terrorist named, Mr Haladu Saleh who has been on security forces wanted list since 2018.”
