CORBON N-Power empowers 100 in South-South zone

The Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON) and N-Power have trained over 100 beneficiaries from the South-South geo-political zone of the federation on Train-the-Trainers (TOT) empowerment in artisanship skills. N-Power was initiated by President Muhammadu Buhari in June 2016, with a focus to “Empowering Nigerian Youths for Prosperity” in order to tackle youth/ graduate unemployment to improve their social status. The Chairman of CORBON N-Power Implementation Committee, Dr. Samson Opaluwah at the three-day programme held yesterday in Asaba, Delta State capital, said the participants were trained in ‘Overview of the National Occupational Standards and N-Power Training Programme Design and Delivery Structure to in turn facilitate and oversee the conduct of training in various N-Power centres across the country. He said the Federal Government, through the National Social Investment Office, under the Ministry of Humanitarian and Disaster Management had offered Nigerian youths the opportunity to develop relevant work skills. He said: ‘’Their role is to ensure that the trainees are suitably placed at apprenticeship sites that are active, and they are conducting the training according to required standards.”
