Corruption: Secondus threatens to drag Buhari media to court

The suspended National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Prince Uche Secondus has asked the Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) to withdraw its statement linking him with corrupt practices.

Secondus in a statement his Senior Assistant on Media, Ike Abonyi, disputed the claim by the Buhari media linking him with the $1.6 billion fraud trial of an oil dealer, Jide Omokore, alleging that the embattled National Chairman collected 25 exotic cars from Omokore worth with millions of naira suspected to be proceeds of oil fraud

The statement, however, noted that Secondus challenged his illegal detention by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in court and won in 2016.

It also noted that when: “The Federal government through Minister of Information Alhaji Lai Mohammed carelessly and callously listed Prince Secondus among the looters of public treasury in 2018 he took government to court to come and prove their allegations but they were unable and the court awarded money to Secondus for the  libel against him.”

The statement added that Prince Secondus was conscious of his reputation and has always served and left public office with his name intact.

It viewed the linkage of Secondus’ name to corruption as insulting and unacceptable.
