COVID 19: Diri appluads Isolation centre, denies meeting Abba Kyari

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri has applauded the facilities at the state isolation centre, saying the state government was taking proactive measures to ensure that the virus was not spread into the state.
He, however, denied meeting with Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, before he was tested positive to coronavirus.
Diri, who visited the state’s isolation centre located at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital in Okolobiri on Wednesday, also disclosed that as at the time he met the Bauchi Governor, Senator Bala Muhammad, during the National Economic Meeting (NEC), he had never contracted the virus.
Diri, was reacting to several calls from Bayelsans  to go on self isolation after sitting close to Bauchi State governor and allegedly meeting with Abba Kyari when he visited President Buhari last week.
He disclosed that the hospital has already started producing hand sanitizers, face masks and other preventive equipment to protect citizens of the state from contacting  the disease.
He said the state government had already taken measures in protecting its water and land boundaries to monitor visitors into the state.
He said:”I had no contact with Governor Bala Muhammed and Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Buhari.”
