Delta: Okpara promises to industrialise state, provide jobs

A governorship hopeful in the 2023 race to the Abia State Government House in Asaba, the state capital, Kenneth Okpara, has promised to industrialise the state, if he is elected as the Governor of Delta State in 2023. This, he said he would realise by partnering foreign investors, who he is presently connected to as a result of his working experience in the World Bank.

The Financial Expert gave the assurance in a chat with journalists at the Atlantic Club in Sapele during the weekend after his meeting with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of Urhobo Lobby Group DC 23, Screening Committee. The former Commissioner for Finance in the state pledged his determination to provide jobs for the youths by establishing 10,000 acres of farmland in each of the 25 Local Government Councils in conjunction with foreign partners and the Local Government Council Chairmen by providing the necessary equipment for the programme in a bid to stem the tide of youth restiveness.
