Don accuses governors of land grabbing

A professor of estate management at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Bioye Tajudeen Aluko, yesterday described governors in Nigeria as land grabbers in their respective states. Aluko also accused governors of hiding under the guise of the Land Use Act to enrich themselves and their political associates through acquisition of other people’s land and allocating same to those in their good books. The professor said this during the 2021 Mandatory Continuing Professional Development seminar (MCPD) of the Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) in Abeokuta. The theme of the seminar is: ‘Effective Land Administration System Towards Elegant Formal Land Market in Nigeria’.
