…election’ll be departure from past polls – Nwankwo

The candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra State, Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo, has said that the election will be a departure from previous gubernatorial contests in the state as the people are tired of politicians who come during every election to make empty promises. Nwankwo, who spoke during a Zoom meeting with some journalists, promised to bring integrity and his over 40 years’ experience as an employer of labour to bear in running the affairs of the state if elected. The frontline industrialist condemned the culture of allowing godfathers to take over the helm of affairs in the state, vowing to fight corruption.

He promised to give merit a chance by appointing people with track records of integrity and competence into positions of authority. He also assured the people of the state that he would ensure the se-curity of life and property of residents of the state by collaborating with the relevant stakeholders, including the elders, community, religious and market leaders. “Security is a major challenge facing Anambra State and indeed the entire South-East geopolitical zone, but I can assure you that the problem is not insurmountable. If Anambra people elect me on November 6, I will secure the state.
