The eNaira wallet has returned to Google Playstore after Wednesday’s disappearance. The version of the app on Google Playstore for Android users went missing 48 hours after its launch on Wednesday, October 27. The Central Bank of Nigeria had earlier explained that the sudden disappearance of the new app was due to necessary updates.
Director of Corporate Communications at CBN, Osita Nwanisobi, said yesterday in Abakaliki, that the app’s disappearance was only temporary as it was undergoing an important upgrade aimed at tackling glitches noticed since its launch. Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had, last week, launched the digital currency. The president projected that the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) would rise by $29 billion in the next 10 years.
