The Federal Government has promised to upgrade the Federal School of Surveying (FSS), Oyo, to a university. The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, made the promise during the convocation of 632 graduands of the institution at the weekend.
Fashola, who was represented by a Director in the ministry, said “We shall continue to support the school in achieving its core mandate of producing relevant professionals in the field of surveying and geoinformatics through a regular review of curriculum and upgrade to the status of the school when necessary to enhance the capability of the school in turning out seasoned professionals who have modern tools to confront the challenges of our contemporary times in the field of surveying.
“The Federal Government is working on upgrading the school to a university. This will further enhance the status of the institution, as well as the calibre of its products. The Federal Government will not relent on its efforts to improve the standard of education in all ramifications in the country.”
