This move was made known during the just concluded 4th edition of Seed Connect Africa Conference in Abuja, organised by the National Agricultural Seeds Council (NASC) in collaboration with the private sector. Director General of NASC, Dr. Philip Ojo, said that apart from the need to completely eradicate the menace of fake seeds that inhibits growth in the sector, there was also need for partnership to guarantee resilience and robust Seed System in Nigeria.

He said the council had unveiled Seed Sector Roadmap together with critical stakeholders, which is tailored towards proper coordination and implementation of activities in the seed industry.
