Kwara Fire Service recovers dead body from Asa River

The Kwara State Fire Service has recovered a dead body from the Asa River, in Ilorin, the state capital.
It was, however, shocking to discover that the hands of the victim were tied together, while his head was also covered with a tattered wrapper, suggesting foul play, according to a statement by the spokesman of the Fire Service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle.
He said: “The incident occurred today, 15th November, 2021 at about 14:40hrs, when one Mr. Olamilekan suddenly summoned the Brigade to the scene of the incident.
“Most importantly, our officers were able to remove the body from the river and later handed over to one Superintendent Ajape of the Nigeria Police Force, Kwara State Command.
“Presently, no concrete evidence has been found regarding the cause of this terrible incident.
“Therefore, The Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, urged everyone to be more careful about their day to day activities in order to prevent similar occurrences.”
