Labour chides Ayade, says civil service is dying

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has mocked Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State for “killing” the civil service, noting that he has refused to engage workers one month after they began their strike.
In a statement known as “Bulletin 16,” on Tuesday, Labour said Ayade was avoiding having a meeting its leadership because he was not interested in have an efficient civil service.
It said: “Never has it been this bad with workers in Cross River State. Our Civil Service is dying.
“Comrades, we have been bombarded with litanies of ‘Cross River State Belonging at the bottom of the FAAC. Can they also tell us where we belong in the internally generated revenue?
“What has happened to income from our quarries? How about road maintenance income from Laferge and other companies?”
