Lagos increases COVID-19 public-private vaccination sites to 360

Lagos State Government has enrolled 135 private health facilities into its mass COVID-19 vaccination strategy, bringing the number of public and private vaccination sites in Lagos to 360.

 

According to a statement from the Director, Public Affairs at the Lagos State Ministry of Health, Mr. Tunbosun Ogunbanwo, the Lagos State Government was targeting to vaccinate four million residents by December 2021.

 

The State Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi, who disclosed this at a news briefing over the weekend explained that the 360 vaccination sites, comprising 135 private health facilities and 225 existing public vaccination sites have been earmarked for the mass vaccination campaign. While noting that more private facilities would be added to the list,

 

Abayomi said the enrolled private facilities were engaged after a rigorous selection and accreditation process that hinges on quality assurance, vaccine safety and follow-up care.

 

He added that the list of accredited private and public facilities is available on the website of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) and official communication channels of the Lagos State Government.
