LASU student wins Rotary DEWEF scholarship

A sophomore at the Department of Botany, Faculty of Science, Lagos State University (LASU), Edet Polycarp Daniel has emerged as one of the winners of the Rotary Inter national, District Education Welfare Fund (DEWEF) Scholarship.

The scholarship is designed for suitably qualified indigent, but brilliant students in federal and state tertiary institutions in Lagos and Ogun States, who have completed their100-Level and are cur rently in their 200-Level, under the District 9110 Education and Welfare Endowment Fund (DEWEF).

To qualify for the scholarship, Edet, a 200-Level under graduate, competed with other students selected from federal and state-owned higher institutions of lear ning in Lagos and Ogun States at the first round, and was shortlisted after he succeeded in the rigorous interview session conducted by the organisers of the award.

At the end of the interview, Edet was emerged as one of the winners of the scholarship scheme, which covers his Bachelor’s degree programme at the university.

While congratulating the students for emerging as winner of the scholarship, on behalf of the LASU community, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. ‘Lanre Fagbohun advised Edet not to rest on his oars.
