The Transition Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Don Unachukwu, has urged the people of the state not to return to Egypt by electing a wrong governor during the November 18 election.
Speaking during All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) campaign at Ojoto, the headquarters of Idemili South Local Government Area, Unachukwu said anything short of re-electing Governor Willie Obiano will amount to returning the state back to Egypt. He added that any attempt to rig the election would be resisted by the people.
He said: “I keep praying that we will re-elect Obiano. We don’t want these wolves to take over the state. God has always been with us. We are supposed to answer God`s own state.”
He said with the overwhelming evidence of what Obiano has done, there was no reason why he should not be re-elected in a landslide.
According to him, Obiano has done well virtually in every department that there was no reason why the people of Anambra State would not vote for him massively.
“In the area of agriculture, there has been massive investment through the ingenuity and efforts of Governor Obiano to the extent that the state now has Anambra made rice.
“In education, the state has been winning awards and a clear indication of the huge investment in education is that a teacher form Anambra State won the best teacher in Nigeria.
“Industries have been springing up here and there in the state through the effort of Governor Obiano`s think home philosophy, which has attracted investors like Cosmas Maduka, who set up his Coscharis Farm in Ayamelum Local government Area of the state,” he said.
