The senator representing Niger East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Sani Musa, has described his recognition by the New Telegraph Newspapers as the “Most Innovative Senator of the Year 2021”, as an honour that will inspire him towards greater excellence.
The lawmaker is among other eminent Nigerians to be honoured by the newspaper at the 2021 edition of its annual awards scheduled for Friday, November 19, in Lagos.
Senator Sani, who spoke in Abuja, when he received the management of DailyTelegraph Publishing Company, led by its Managing Director, Mr Ayodele Aminu, said: “This award will motivate me to do more for my constituents and Nigerians in general.” The lawmaker, who further said that he is encouraged by the recognition and considered it invaluable, added: “It will also make me to match my words with action even as I will try as much as possible to always make my words my bond.”
Speaking earlier on behalf of the New Telegraph team, the Managing Director of the newspaper, Mr Aminu, said the choice of Senator Musa for the “Most Innovative Senator” category of the awards was arrived at after a diligent and vigorous scrutiny.
“We are not looking at the conventional awards that are known in Nigeria. As a media house, we have reported most of the things you have done as a legislator, but we cannot overlook your remarkable contributions to the political development of the country in the year under review.”
The New Telegraph Awards seek to honour Nigerians in the political and business space, who have distinguished themselves by their remarkable contributions to the socioeconomic and political development of the country in the year under review.
Such reward system has the twin effect of galvanizing and inspiring recipients towards greater excellence while also helping to incentivize others to aspire to such distinction.
