NYSC sanctions 36 Lagos corps members for indiscipline

At least 36 corps members who undertook the 2021 Batch ‘A’ Stream I, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Lagos State are to be remobilised, with four others having their service extended by two to three months. The affected corps members, who are among the 4,427 deployed to the state, were sanctioned for indiscipline and offences ranging from abscondment to dereliction of duties. The NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Eddy Megwa, said this yesterday during the passing out of the batch at the Temporary NYSC Orientation Camp, Iyana-Ipaja. According to him, the names of the affected corps members have been forwarded to the national headquarters in Abuja. Meanwhile, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties & Inter-Governmental Relations, Sesan Tunde Ogundeko, promised to continue to accord the NYSC its rightful place for the overall interest of youths and national integration.
